Republican team "WorldSkills Belarus" took part in the Championship of the countries-members of the Eurasian space within the framework of the Final V of the National Championship "Young Professionals (WorldSkills Russia)" - 2017, which was held in Krasnodar May 15-19, 2017

Republican team "WorldSkills Belarus" consisting of 35 contestants was represented by students of colleges, university students and young skilled workers aged up to 22 years from different regions of the republic: Minsk, Grodno, Vitebsk, Mogilev, Gomel, Rogachev, Brest, Kobrin.

Participants of WorldSkills Belarus demonstrated their professional skills in 29 competencies in 6 spheres: "Construction sphere" (tiling, carpentry, brickwork, furniture production, carpentry, electrical installation, plumbing and heating, painting and decorative works, dry construction and plastering works); "Creative professions and fashion" (fashion technology, graphic design); "Information and communication technologies" (network and system administration, welding technologies, software solutions for business); Production and engineering technologies (milling operations on CNC machines, lathe work on CNC machines, electronics, CAD engineering, mechatronics, mobile robotics); Social and personal services (restaurant service, web design, cooking, confectionery, hairdressing, applied aesthetics); "Service of civil transport" (body repair, repair and maintenance of cars, geodesy).

The three-day struggle of the participants for medals was held at 4 covered areas and 2 open exhibition pavilions of the exhibition and congress complex "Expo Yug" with a size of 56,400 square meters. Competitions for geodesy were held on the basis of additional sites opposite the "Expo".

In total, 109 basic and 4 demonstration competencies are presented within the framework of the championship, in which 1200 students and schoolchildren took part. According to some competencies, the competition tasks started on May 15, the rest started on May 16 and ended on May 18. Uneasy proved to be many trials, the main difficulties were the time frame and physical endurance.

The national team of Belarus won 2 gold medals in terms of competence: "Fashion technology" - Olga Kushner, a student at the Grodno College of Technology, Technology and Design; "Production of furniture" - Ivan Skorb, a student of the Belarusian State Technological University, 21 silver and 6 bronze medals.

Together with the team, 33 experts came to the championship, among them specialists of enterprises, masters of industrial training and teachers who joined the expert jury to assess the professional skills of the contestants. On the eve of the championship, Belarusian experts, along with 1100 experts from all over Russia, passed a refresher course and defended projects in groups according to the level for beginners, practitioners and professionals. During the day, experts participated in trainings on the development of the methodology for holding the championship. The final test was the protection of projects for the preparation of a competitive task, the definition of evaluation criteria, a technical description and a list of equipment necessary for the competition.

For reference: In the final of the V National Championship "Young Professionals" (WorldSkills Russia) 2017 - the largest in Russia professional skills competitions according to WorldSkills International standards in Krasnodar, 1200 students of secondary professional educational organizations, including international contestants, as well as school students took part. In the Championship 109 competencies are presented, where contestants from 70 regions of Russia competed. More than 1400 experts identified the best specialists among Russian and foreign students and schoolchildren.

Within the framework of the finals of the Vth National Championship I held the First Championship of the countries-members of the Eurasian space. Students and students from Belarus, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan took part in the competition for awards in a separate medal standings for 31 competencies. 60 experts from Belarus, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan joined the assessment of the skills of young specialists.

The solemn opening ceremony of the largest in Russia professional skills competitions took place at the open area of ​​the exhibition and congress complex "Expo Yug".

The participants of the championship were greeted by Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation Lyudmila Ogorodova, Governor of the Krasnodar Territory Veniamin Kondratiev, General Director of the Union of Young Professionals (Worldskills Russia) Robert Urazov. As part of the opening ceremony, the official talismans of the 45th WorldSkills Kazan 2019 World Cup were presented: Skillsy Boy and Smarty Girl.

Within the framework of the "Young Professionals" championship an extensive business program was held, in which the Belarusian delegation took an active part.

On May 16, a roundtable discussion on the development of the WorldSkills movement in the Eurasian space was held with the participation of Lyudmila Ogorodova, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, Robert Urazov, the General Director of the Young Professionals Union (Worldskill Russia), the rector of the Republican Institute of Vocational Education, Arkady Khononovich Shklyar and more. 50 directors of colleges from Belarus and Kazakhstan. Questions were discussed on the need to form a new generation of working cadres for the industrial complex with skills in working with modern equipment.

As a result of the session, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed for the development of the Worldskills project between the Young Professionals Union (Worldskills Russia) and the Republican Institute of Vocational Education. The parties united to improve the quality of vocational education, the introduction of advanced international experience in training and improvement of the relevant standards in the education system. The countries agreed on the joint recognition of the results of the championships and the demonstration exam, on the organization of joint teams and competitions on high-tech competencies, and on the implementation of the FutureSkills program aimed at forecasting the professions of the future.

On May 19, at the closing ceremony of the WorldSkills Russia Championship in Krasnodar, the rector of the Republican Institute of Professional Education Arkady Shklyar and the technical delegate of WorldSkills Belarus Olga Dekhtyarenko presented the participants of the Championship of the Eurasian Countries. According to the results of the competitions, all international contestants received a SkillsPassport passport, which certifies the level of competence in the WorldSkills standards, indicating the number of points scored.

As a result of participation in the Championship "Young Professionals (WorldSkills Russia)" the national team will be finally formed, which will represent Belarus in the most prestigious world professional skill competition - the 44th WorldSkills International Championship. It will be held in October 2017 in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates).

Joining our country to the world movement WorldSkills International provided an opportunity for Belarusian youth to participate in international championships of professional skills, in which future workers and specialists demonstrate to the world their professional skills, interest in the chosen profession, gain experience in international standards of professional competencies to improve the quality of professional education.
