By the Resolution of the Ministry of Education of August 22, 2024, No. 107, amendments were made to the Instruction on the procedure for holding Olympiads in academic subjects.

A consultant of the Department of General Secondary Education of the Ministry of Education, Angela Kudoyarova, noted that amendments were made to the document, which provide for the organization of study shifts within the framework of the Olympiad movement in schools.

The main objective of holding study shifts is to identify the most talented and capable students to participate in the Republican Olympiad, as well as high-quality preparation of students for the third and final stage of the Republican Olympiad, especially for participation in international Olympiads. Study shifts will be held online and in a classroom.

Among the innovations, the responsibility for preparing and storing Olympiad assignments for the second stage of the Republican Olympiad has been assigned to the Academy of Education; the specific dates for the first, second, third and final stages of the Republican Olympiad will be determined by the order of the Minister of Education; study shifts will be organized within the framework of the Olympiad movement in school - sets of educational classes and psychological trainings in the subjects "Mathematics", "Physics", "Chemistry", "Biology", "Computer Science", "Astronomy" and "Geography" taking into account the specifics for preparing students to participate in the Republican Olympiad and candidates for the teams of the Republic of Belarus - in international Olympiads.

The dates for the study shifts have also been set and the number of participants has been increased. The organization and implementation in online and in-classroom forms will be carried out by the Academy of Education together with the Belarusian State University and the main education departments of the regional executive committees, the education committee of the Minsk City Executive Committee.

Assignments for participation in the selection will be posted on the website of the Academy of Education. Anyone can participate in remote shifts, even students from the most remote rural school. By visiting the website of the Academy of Education, children can complete these tasks at home, at school, together with teachers and parents. However, everyone should understand that later, during the in-person shift, they will still have to be responsible for themselves, without the help of others.

Based on the results of completing the tasks, the best will be invited to Minsk, and teachers from among the faculty of the capital's universities will work with them.

The first shift in a remote format will take place from September 30 to October 5. All the necessary information about the order of study shifts will be posted on the Academy's website. During the shift, students will be able to complete the proposed tasks, which will then be promptly checked.

In turn, the first in-person shift will begin in February. Then, from April to August, the best schoolchildren who have passed the selection will study at universities, as well as at the Zubrenok kids center.
