Education for the future of the country
Published: 22.08.2024

Knowledge Day is a special day for schoolchildren, teachers and parents. Celebratory assemblies dedicated to the Knowledge Day will be held on September 2 in schools and gymnasia.

About 1 million 72k students will be studying at schools in the upcoming academic year and among them will be about 105k first grade students.

The Ministry of Education has approved the topic for the first lesson: “We have something to be proud of, we have something to take care of”!

In the year of quality and 80th anniversary of liberation of Belarus from the German-fascist invaders the lesson will be dedicated to the achievements of Belarusian people, those we rightfully proud of, and about those important values to save in the name of the future.

Key aspect is to develop in students a desire to search for objective information about prowess and heroism Belarusian people showed during the Great Patriotic War, to instill respect to debt and service to fatherland, to help to save historical memory, generation links and achievements of Belarusians as well as instilling civic and patriotic qualities of a person among students.

Nowadays our state is a strong and independent Belarus with a century-long history and rich national traditions, diverse cultural life and high education and medicine levels, developed infrastructure and agriculture. Belarus has a strong sports spirit as well and walks steadily following its own way of development.

It is the right prosperous country for citizen to feel completely secure and save. We pay tribute to past and look with confidence to a future where people restore architectural values and build new high-tech buildings, develop IT and space fields.

Such Belarusian brands as MAZ, MTZ, BELAZ, High-Tech Park are known far abroad. Our country and its people are well known and respected all over the world.

The President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko noted that “the successes and achievements of people create the history of the state, unite the people in a sense of pride for their compatriots, form the image of the country - strong, successful, creative and certainly beautiful one.”

This year Belarusians celebrate the 80th anniversary of liberation from the Nazi invaders. Belarus was under terror for three long years (1941-44). Belarus remembers and honors the feat of the fallen and the living, known and nameless compatriots who were soldiers of the Great Patriotic War, as well as partisans and underground fighters.

The Belarusian people, who have endured a huge number of trials, like no one else value the peaceful sky, confident future and independence of their country.

The tragedy experienced and the Victory achieved are an eternal source of pain and bitterness, pride and glory of our people.
