The Grand finale of “Teacher of the Year of the Republic of Belarus – 2023” took place today at the National Centre for Artistic Creativity of Children and Youth. Eight participants out of 56 reached the Grand final.

Deputy Minister of Education Alexander Kadlubai was present at the event and stated that this competition became a good tradition. He commented: “Teacher of the year is a platform not only for self-realization of best of the best but for start as well. This is testified by “Khrustalniy Zhuravl” club, which receives contestants regardless of who came first and who was it. Contestants can spread their experience nationwide and it is very important because more than 5 thousand young specialists came to institutions and they need such big professionals.”

The Grand final began with “Solving pedagogic issues” task. Each contestant received different situations, which might happen in teacher’s daily routine and solve it for points from the professional judges.

Next was a mini-lesson “Kids are everything for us! Just feel them and educate”. The running time was 15 minutes with teammates taking the roles of students. Lubov Polyn, a nurse representing kindergarten #40 of Mozyr did her task quite fascinating and interactive. Lubov has brought six robot-assistants from her hometown. Lubov is an active participant of “Roboalgorythms” interest club, functioning on the grounds of preschool education. The robots task is to teach kids how to recognize emotions.

Third task was public speech on “Educate a person…”

Judges must determine the winner and this is very difficult because the level of participant’s professionalism is very high.

As a result, eight finalists – winners in their respective categories reached the grand final of the competition.
