National patriotic event “Unity of Generations: memory route” is scheduled to take place from 2 to 6 November in a road train format. 55 finalists of the “I am a patriot of my country” national competition shall join the event, those who did not make it to the main participants list of the Belarusian-Russian patriotic cultural and education project “Memory Train”.

Five days and more than a thousand kilometers to go. Contestants will visit historical and cultural sites of the country, they will take part in excursion and interactive programs as well. The route covers all Belarusian oblasts and allows to study the heroic past of Belarusian people, cultural heritage, traditions as well as modern achievements of the country.

The road train departs 2 November at 11 a.m. from Victory Square in Minsk.

The events program will unite historical and patriotic direction and educational and cultural direction.

2 November (Minsk): Visits to: Centre for technic creativity of children and young people, National Library, Education and safety center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and museum expositions.

3 November (Krasny Bereg and Mogilev): requiem-meeting at the children – victims of war memorial, a tour of the Kozel-Poklevskikh estate, a “Youth remembers” event at the Buynichi field and a visit to Museum of Glory of Mogilev.

4 November (Vitebsk): Flower laying at the eternal flame, visits to historical, cultural and industrial sites of the city.

5 November (Khatyn and Grodno): visit to Khatyn memorial complex, a tour of the Grodno historical center (Old and New castles) and an organ music concerto.

6 November: Solemn ending ceremony.

Main goal of the event is patriotic education of the growing generation, to save historical memory, to strengthen ties between generations and to help kids find interest to history and culture of their motherland.

“Unity of Generations: memory route” is an opportunity for kids to literally touch the heroic pages of the Belarusian history, to meet peers from different regions and think deeper on the importance of saving the historical memory.
