October 19, on the grounds of the National Children's Technopark, the final of the International Youth Project of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States “100 ideas for the CIS” is being held. It is coordinated by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus.
In this event, participants will present more than 40 developments from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
The start of the solemn event was preceded by an exhibition of developments from the final of the International Youth Project of the CIS Member States.
Guests of honor and visitors to the exhibition noted the very high level of the projects. New technologies and artificial intelligence are being widely used, including supporting people with limited mobility and visual impairment. Innovations are used in agriculture and the engineering complex. Young people are actively working on unmanned aerial vehicle technologies and serious projects in robotics.
Welcoming the finalists, Minister of Education Andrei Ivanets expressed gratitude to the CIS Executive Committee for the fact that today the Republic of Belarus has the high honor of hosting participants in the international forum: “We are building a common scientific and technical space, pursuing a common youth policy. Our priorities are similar. We are doing a common cause - we are united by our highly intelligent youth, each of the young people wants to contribute with their intelligence and knowledge to the development of their countries and the Commonwealth of Independent States. Addressing the talented and purposeful guys, I would like to say that what our countries will be like in the future depends on each of you. I want to assure that the state of the Republic of Belarus, like all the CIS countries, is creating all the necessary conditions for each of your ideas to be heard, supported, and reach the real consumer.”
By the way, the winners of the “100 Ideas for Belarus” competition participate in the final with 12 developments. Innovations include a touch glove for digitizing gestures of people with disabilities, a 3D printer for meat products, a smart card for quick information exchange, and glasses for visually impaired people.
The project to create energy-efficient workwear is also significant. Essentially, this is a heated suit that is powered by alternative energy sources - wind and sun.
The opportunity for beloved pets who have mobility problems to lead a full life will be provided by a project to introduce bionic prosthetics in animals into veterinary practice. Using a proven technique for 3D printing individual titanium prostheses, pets will have a chance to move again.
All developments are aimed at import substitution, which is actively supported by the state. Many of the products are much more effective and cheaper than their foreign counterparts. For example, domestic activated carbon will help with poisoning much faster, and Belarusian tetrapack (unlike imported ones) is biodegradable.
Some innovative developments have already won twice like a 3D printer that prepares meat products. The uniqueness of the idea is that all mixtures are of natural composition, it is possible to set the nutritional biological value of the product individually to the needs of each person. If the body lacks iron, calcium, amino acids, then the required composition of the product can be simulated or allergens can be excluded from the product.
The defense of the participants’ projects will be in the following categories: “Security”, “IT-sphere”, “Medicine and healthcare”, “Production technologies and industrial infrastructure”, “Rational environmental management”, “Social sphere”, “Education”, “Hospitality”.
The expert councils include leading experts in various fields of science and technology from the participating countries, as well as representatives of the Council of Young Scientists under the Ministry of Education.
The program of events “100 ideas for the CIS” also includes: an open dialogue with the participation of the Minister of Education Andrei Ivanets; visiting the laboratories of the Republican Center for Ecology and Local History; master classes on public speaking and personal branding; presentation of the Center for Assistance to Young Professionals - the basic organization for the development of youth entrepreneurship in the CIS and excursions around the city.
The awards ceremony for the winners will take place tomorrow, October 20, at the National Children's Technology Park.
