Minsk, 4 November. Students and pupils who won international academic competitions, creative contests, and festivals, as well as laureates of special funds of the President of the Republic of Belarus for the social support of gifted students and pupils, and for the support of talented youth received their awards during a solemn ceremony. The ceremony took place at the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War.

The "Award of the Special Fund of the President of the Republic of Belarus for the Social Support of Gifted Students and Pupils" badges were presented to 38 students and pupils who won international academic competitions and research conferences.

"Now we see that our youth are gifted and talented. They bring glory to our country on the world stage by working hard and achieving success," noted Education Minister Andrei Ivanets. He further added, that: "We have once again proven that Belarus is an intellectual, educated country rich in talented young people. Thanks to the support of our President, over the past 30 years, more than 1,700 young people have become laureates of the special fund, and more than 43,000 talented and gifted children have received support from the special fund. The head of state says that talented, gifted, and educated youth are a strategic resource for the country, and our task is to create all the necessary conditions so that they be able to demonstrate their achievements, develop into professionals, enter science, education, culture, and innovation, and thereby contribute to the development of our country."

Minister of Culture Ruslan Chernetsky emphasized that teachers play a significant role in the success of gifted young people. "Teacgers treat their students like their own children. They are second parents who have invested themselves completely in talented young people," he added.

At the event, honorary certificates from the Ministry of Education of Belarus were presented to teachers and lecturers for their many years of fruitful work in developing students' intellectual talent and creating an effective educational environment within the institution that enables the development of students' creative, educational, cognitive, and research potential.
