The portfolio of charitable projects of the country's largest bank has been supplemented with a new one - “After school with Belarusbank”. Its goal is to provide rural schools across the country with new comfortable vehicles for transporting children to educational institutions. Today, the first six buses produced by MAZ OJSC, the management company of the BELAVTOMAZ holding, purchased as part of the project, were solemnly handed over to representatives of the districts.

First Deputy Minister of Education Alexander Bakhanovich, Chairman of the Board of the Bank Viktor Ananich, General Director of the Minsk Automobile Plant Valery Ivankovich, representatives of six districts, as well as heads of educational institutions took part in the ceremony for presenting the keys to vehicles, which took place at the bank’s head office in the capital.

These schools were: Imeninskaya Secondary School, Kobrin district, Brest region; Slobodskaya Secondary School named after N.M. Pshenko, Lepelsky district, Vitebsk region; Secondary school No. 1 named after A.R. Solovey, Oktyabrsky town, Gomel region; Zhodishkovskaya Secondary School, Smorgon district, Grodno region; Churlenskaya Secondary School, Vileika district, Minsk region; Dobosnyanskaya Secondary School, Kirov district, Mogilev region.

“I am very proud that a new one has been added to the five charitable projects operating at Belarusbank: “After school with Belarusbank,” the head of the bank noted, addressing the guests of the celebration. — His idea was outlined by the Head of State: to provide rural schools with modern comfortable buses for transporting children. Today we are delivering the first vehicles to six schools - one from each region. But this is only the beginning, given the high social significance of this initiative, we plan to develop it. The Belarusbank team is pleased to know that thanks to the bank, children from the most remote regions will get to classes in warmth and comfort.

The high significance of the project, including for the education sector, was emphasized by First Deputy Minister of Education Alexander Bokhanovich:
— The head of state set the task of ensuring a comfortable and safe transportation of children from rural areas to schools. Today, passenger services are carried out in almost 7.5 thousand settlements and in 2210 schools. Almost 59 thousand students are transported, while the republic’s bus fleet includes 1.6 thousand vehicles. This year, 151 units of equipment were purchased from local budget funds, and 124 from the republican budget. But sponsorship assistance is very useful for solving this problem. Belarusbank was the first to support the initiative.

For the village, such transport is a real lifesaver. Thanks to it, you can not only quickly get to school or go on a short trip with your class, but also get to the pool. “Unfortunately, the equipment breaks down. But thanks to our sponsor – Belarusbank, we now have the opportunity to get a new school bus. With it, 29 students from four settlements will be able to get to the educational institution and back,” summed up Irina Maslova, the principal of the Dobosnyansky secondary school.

The launch of a new, sixth project only confirms the fact that the bank’s team of thousands does not rest on its laurels and is adding to the list of good and important initiatives for the benefit of the country and residents, especially the youngest.
