December 14, The supervisory board of the National Children’s Technopark discussed the results of the admission campaign and ways of improving the effectiveness of the individual educational trajectory for technopark’s students.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Education Andrei Ivanets, Deputy Minister of Education Alexander Kadlubai, The head of the technopark Sergei Sachko and leaderships of the ministries of energy, industry and healthcare.

In his address to the participants, Andrei Ivanets noted that a lot has been done on development and implementation of the main approaches, directions and tools for the technopark. A constant analysis is underway as well as improvement of the regulatory legal governance of the institution, of content of learning programs on directions and of order of scheduling the education.

Mr. Ivanets said there are road maps drafted with the sectoral ministries on cooperation development with technopark. The minister emphasized “It is not just a roadmap on some general cooperation, first of all it is determining themes of projects on which our gifted students do researchers and are led by university scientists, and ones from the National Academy of Sciences. This is an important aspect. Now we must aim our student’s brain, knowledge and time at solving particular tasks our economy and society faces”.

Second aspect but by no means less important is using resources of the enterprises who work in the ministerial structures for education to be conducted not only in well-equipped techno labs of the technopark but on the enterprises of the real sector as well. Kids must understand and see where their knowledge is about to be used and which is more important – which professional career is available for them to choose.

Mr. Ivanets noted a key aspect as well “This year we’ve got a unique opportunity in accordance with the Decree of the head of the state, which is admission via a special trajectory of more gifted students to lyceums, secondary vocational institutions and institutions of higher learning. Guys who study at the technopark come from a “forge of personnel” to be waited by every head of an enterprise.

Currently, more than 30 enterprises directly work with tecnopark and provide help in organizing the educational process.

“Our aim is every student graduate of the technopark realize his potential and work for the benefit of Belarus”, concluded Mr. Ivanets.

According to Alexander Kadlubai, in 2022/2023 academic year 308 11th grade students studied in the technopark and 283 of them became students of regional and metropolitan universities.

The supervisory board gave 58 recommendations for admission to institutions of higher learning on exam-free basis on specialties “Technics and technology” and “Natural sciences”.

In order to improve the effectiveness of issuing recommendations it is planned to ask students to attend the meeting of the board to interview them about their motivation to study and will to work on the Belarusian enterprises.

“In the 2023/2024 academic year, we will continue our work aimed at the effective implementation of benefits, and changes will be made to the regulatory framework that determines the procedure for students of the National Children's Technology Park to receive benefits when entering higher education institutions, lyceums for secondary education,” said Alexander Kadlubay.

The second issue on the agenda of today's event was the issue of conceptual approaches to the activities of the National Children's Technopark, taking into account the instructions of the Head of State, the Government of the Republic of Belarus, given during the visit to the National Children's Technopark.

Sergei Sachko informed about the changes made to the Concept of the functioning and development of the National Children's Technopark for 2023-2025.

These changes are aimed at solving current problems, including organizing systematic work with representatives of the real sector of the economy in order to provide assistance in the practical application of student developments, taking into account their abilities and interests; establishing close cooperation between the educational laboratories of the Children's Technopark and sectoral ministries and departments (subordinate organizations) of the Republic of Belarus; organizing systematic work with higher education institutions and representatives of the real sector of the economy in order to assist in building a professional trajectory for students, taking into account their abilities and interests.

The main directions for the development of the Children's Technology Park for the period until 2025 have also been determined, including: the formation of an innovative educational environment; building a support system for gifted children and youth; expanding the network of student associations in additional education for children and youth in innovative areas; realization of the educational potential of students in order to form civil and patriotic personality traits and develop international cooperation.
