Tomorrow Belarus will celebrate the Independence Day. Of course, a parade of troops of the Minsk garrison will take place, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders. The parade will be attended by a combined squad of students from cadet schools and a specialized lyceum of the Ministry of Internal Affairs with 112 students in all. Other squads of students have specialized lyceum of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (108 people), the Minsk Suvorov Military School (84), and the Kemerovo Presidential Cadet School (53 people). A new uniform was sewn for students especially for July 3rd.

Each student spent months of preparation and drill on the parade ground of the Minsk Military Commandant's Office (twice per day), allowing them to present the students of the country's cadet education system with dignity. On weekends students went to a swimming pool, the Museum of the Armed Forces of Belarus, and the Minsk DOSAAF flying club named after twice Hero of the Soviet Union S.I. Gritsevets as well as Republican Center for Ecology and Local History, and the Pioneer Cinema.

Today at the Minsk Suvorov Military School, future defenders of the Fatherland were congratulated on the upcoming main holiday of Belarusian statehood and given farewell messages before the parade.

Deputy Minister of Education Alexander Kadlubay noted: “The Ministry of Education, like the Ministry of Defense, sees for itself the key direction of educating the younger generation, preserving historical memory and respect for the statehood of our country. I'm sure the drill you went through united you. And that culminating event for which you were preparing will leave an indelible impression and a solid trace in your memory. You have determined a professional path for yourself, and for this I am sincerely grateful to you, your parents, those who were with you throughout your studies at the cadet school, Suvorov school, and specialized lyceums. Because after some time it will depend on you how safe our people will feel in rapid-changing times. This choice of protecting the Fatherland and taking responsibility for the fate of the state is not an easy one. May you always have enough strength, energy, and health on this military path, so that the skills that you receive today and will receive in our universities, primarily aimed at ensuring national security, will be useful to you for peaceful purposes only.”

In turn, the head of the military education department of the Armed Forces, Andrei Klishevich, said: “It is symbolic that we celebrate the holiday, marching in the same ranks with our cadet brothers from the Kemerovo Presidential Cadet School. In conditions of unprecedented economic and information pressure on the Union State, the difficult experience of our great-grandfathers and grandfathers is especially in demand and relevant. It gives us confidence that we can cope, that the strength of our peoples lies in truth, unity and patriotism. We have a native land that we are proud of, we have an army that is capable of giving a tough fight to any aggressor, and have a victorious people that remembers its heroes and values freedom. That is why we look to the future with courage and calm.”

Today, more than 350 Suvorov graduates, cadets and students of specialized lyceums were today presented with Gratitude from the President of Belarus - Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Alexander Lukashenko, “Parade Participant” memorial signs, the book “Education of Belarus” and backpacks as souvenirs. Cadets and Suvorov students received medals “For service to the Motherland since childhood” and badges “Young Defender of the Fatherland.” After the ceremony, the guys visited the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War.

What is also important is that this year a youth formation will appear at the parade. The most prominent representatives of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union and other organizations gained this right. These are the fighters of the student detachments who built the museum in Khatyn, and are now working in the Brest Fortress; laureates of awards and scholarships of the Head of State; youth members of the talented and gifted fund; activists-winners of republican competitions (250 people in total).

In addition, the youth of Belarus will create a festive atmosphere on Independence Day by singing songs from the Great Patriotic War in shopping centers and the metro.
