Minsk, 27 August. Education Ministry held a ceremonial meeting with an outstanding master, math teacher at Lida Gymnasium No. 1 - Alfred Ladyko, who was awarded the high title of "People's Teacher" by the Decree of the President of Belarus.
The event, timed to coincide with the beginning of the new academic year, served as an important platform for dialogue between generations of teachers. In attendance were young teachers, laureates of the national competition "Teacher of the Year 2023", heads and specialists of educational institutions, representatives of the Education Ministry and the Academy of Education.
Education Minister Andrei Ivanets addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. He emphasized that a teacher is more than a profession, it is one’s calling that requires deep responsibility, wisdom and generosity of spirit.
"The noble, selfless and sought-after work of a teacher has always enjoyed special respect in Belarusian society. It is one of the most socially significant, kind and wise. It shapes the future of the country," the Minister noted.
In recognition of his outstanding achievements in the development of the national education system, Alfred Antonovich Ladyko was presented with a memorable gift - the book titled "Our President".
The key point of the meeting was Alfred Antonovich’s speech. He shared his almost 50 years of teaching experience, revealed the philosophy of teaching mathematics, spoke about the methods of educating the individual and how to maintain high professional standards in a changing world.
His words, filled with deep love for the work, faith in each student and dedication aroused sincere respect and inspiration in all those present.
"Your ideological position, depth of understanding of educational processes and high spiritual guidelines meet the most stringent requirements and value systems of Belarusian society," Andrei Ivanets noted.
The meeting ended with the "Open Mic" format and teachers of different generations exchanged opinions, shared professional challenges and developments. Young teachers received valuable advice from a master whose life is an example of service to education.
The meeting with Alfred Antonovich Ladyko was a tribute to the outstanding teacher and a powerful impetus for professional growth, creative inspiration and strengthening the prestige of the teaching profession in Belarus.
Pedagogy is more than transfer of knowledge. It is a calling, service and feat.
And today in our country there are teachers who remind us of this daily by being role models.
Alfred Antonovich Ladyko is a shining example of a Teacher with a big T.
