January 18, several important events take place in the Vitebsk oblast. Thus, on the grounds of Euphrosyne of Polotsk State University, the qualifying educational stage of the projects of higher education institutions of the Vitebsk oblast of the republican innovative youth competition “100 ideas for Belarus” is taking place, and in the Palace of Culture of OJSC “NAFTAN” there is a dialogue platform “Points of Intersest” and the closing ceremony of "Novopolotsk - 2023".

During the qualifying educational stage of the projects “100 ideas for Belarus” at the site of the Euphrosyne of Polotsk State University, the head of the main department of educational work and youth policy of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, Viktor Dovnar expressed the wish that the developments that are being presented today become the basis for new innovative decisions both for the benefit of the development of the oblast and the entire country as a whole.

“Among this audience there are future Kulibins, Mendeleevs, Nobel laureates who will make discoveries not only for our country, but for the whole world,” stated Victor Dovnar.

It was noted that the unique project has become a tradition of modern Belarus, it is gaining momentum every year. The country has created all the conditions so that young people can fully develop themselves, including in the field of innovation, science and education. The level of projects presented at the competition is constantly growing with talented young people not only offering ideas, but their implementation as well.

Since 2022, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus has been one of the co-organizers of the Republican youth project “100 Ideas for Belarus”.

This project consists of four rounds, the order of which is determined by the Ministry of Education. The interuniversity qualification stages took place from December 13 to December 22, 2023. These tours were organized in each region, as well as in Minsk. The expert commission recommended projects for participation in the third round. The total number of projects was 126.

In the Vitebsk oblast, 31 applications were received to participate in the inter-university qualification stage. Based on the results of the work of the Expert Council, 23 projects were recommended. Currently, the qualifying educational stage of the third round is being implemented. Exhibitions of youth projects and scientific and technical developments are being held, master classes and training seminars have been organized.

The third round of the project will end with a meeting of the expert councils of the Ministry of Education in Minsk, which will take place in February. The winners of the third round will take part in the republican stage until March 31, 2024.

Summing up the results of today's stage, the Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists under the Ministry of Education, Anastasia Kiselevich, noted that the presented projects of the Vitebsk oblast pleased with the quality and level of preparation: “We are ready to recommend all these projects for passage to the next round. Because these are not only ideas - these are projects that have already been implemented in practice. Traditionally, a large number of projects were aimed at society and the social sphere. However, the themes of healthcare, industrial and agro-industrial technologies were present.”

It is also reported that the projects of Polotsk State University and their number are among the leaders among universities. The ideas are quite diverse, practice-oriented and socially significant.
