
Today Alexander Lukashenko visited Belarusian State University.
During a meeting on topical issues of the university's activities, the Head of State noted: “Education is the most important human factor, it is a resource. The most important thing for a person is education, then goes health and so on. If a healthy person is uneducated, you know what kind of person it is. That is why education goes first. Hence the most important direction of my work and the Belarusian authorities.”
The President set the task: “This year we must finally fine-tune our system, determine in which direction to develop, so that neither parents nor our society react badly to any innovations in the development of this system.”
The Belarusian leader emphasized the high status of the Belarusian university, noting that BSU is not just a university: “This is the history, the future of the country. Established during the formation of the Belarusian state, it became the personification of the scientific and industrial power of modern Belarus.”
The President expressed confidence that BSU could compete with the main scientific organization of the country in the field of space, drones, and possibly electric vehicles.
Alexander Lukashenko pointed to the weighty state support of BSU, stressing that colossal state funds have been invested in the modernization of the university, and it should work for the benefit of the country and the social sphere.
During his visit to BSU, the President learned about the exhibition, which presented scientific developments. In particular, with a complex of means for optical remote sensing of the Earth from the ISS - an orientation system for video spectral equipment. Their developer and manufacturer is the Research Institute of Applied Problems of Mathematics and Informatics BSU.
Among those shown to the Head of State were also working models and systems of the educational laboratory of aerospace measurements, which are used in the educational process in the preparation of the specialty "Aerospace technologies, space mapping and geodesy". Experts also spoke about the use of laser scanning of the terrain.
In addition, veterinary medicines, environmentally friendly biological fertilizers for plants were shown at the exhibition, as well as unique developments of anticancer drugs, spirometers for assessing the respiratory system. It should be noted that the exhibition covered a wide range of scientific, educational and educational activities of BSU.

The Belarusian leader was also informed about the activities of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union at the university, the development of student teams and approaches to working with student youth.
Reference: Belarusian State University is a large educational, research and production complex. The structure of the university includes 16 faculties, 11 training institutes and educational institutions, 4 research institutes and 2 national research centers, 6 innovative manufacturing enterprises, 1 science and technology park.
In accordance with the updated Code of the Republic of Belarus on Education, since 2023, BSU has begun training specialists in 68 specialties of undergraduate educational programs, 7 specialties of continuous educational programs, 48 specialties and 78 profiles of master's educational programs.
More than 24 thousand students and undergraduates study at BSU, including about 4 thousand foreign citizens from 62 countries of the world, the number of which has increased by 71 percent since 2018.
More than 3 thousand teachers are responsible for the education process in BSU, including 5 academicians, 11 corresponding members of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, over 200 doctors of sciences and professors, about a thousand candidates of sciences.
