A delegation of the Ministry of Education headed by First Deputy Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Bakhanovich is visiting the People's Republic of China.

The main events of the visit program include participation in the World Conference on the Development of Vocational and Technical Education.

The meeting was preceded by a visit to the Center for the Study of Belarus, located at the East China Normal University (ECNU). Alexander Bakhanovich reached an agreement with the director of the center Bei Wenli on holding scientific and practical events on the subject "Belarus - SCO" in 2025.

During the meeting with the rector of ECNU Qian Xiaihun, the parties focused on the constructive cooperation of the Chinese university with leading Belarusian universities, such as Belarusian State University, Minsk State Linguistic University, Belarusian State University of Economy and Academy of Public Administration. The parties noted the positive experience of internships of Belarusian students within the framework of programs for SCO member states and observers, as well as the successful implementation of a joint educational program with BSEU on the topic "Logistics in the Concept of the Revival of the Great Silk Road".

The parties discussed in details the possibilities of joint scientific research on the use of artificial intelligence and GPT technologies for the integration of humanitarian and natural sciences.

During the meeting of the delegation with the Vice President of Tongji University Liu Peiming, the parties noted the progress in the development of inter-university cooperation between the two countries.

The importance of further developing cooperation within the framework of the Belarusian-Chinese Association of Universities and the implementation of the activities of the plan of flagship projects and youth exchanges between the Ministry of Education of Belarus and the Ministry of Education of the PRC was emphasized.

The parties agreed that preliminary developments already exist in these areas, and their implementation in the near future will create the preconditions for the universities to sign documents on joint activities to implement joint projects in the field of engineering.

"Your university is in the center of our attention." Under this motto, the delegation visited Tianjin University of Foreign Languages, which celebrated its 60th anniversary this year.

During the meeting with the rector of the university, Li Yining, the role of TUFL in organizing the study of the Belarusian language in China was noted, and mechanisms for supporting this activity were defined.

Agreements were reached on developing cooperation with Belarusian higher education institutions in the field of joint research work, establishing partnerships between Belarusian general secondary education institutions and schools operating under TUFL to organize linguistic and cultural exchanges.

As part of his visit to the Center for the Study of Belarus operating at the university, Alexander Bakhanovich held a meeting with students studying the Belarusian language, and handed over items of Belarusian culture and everyday life.
Today, the delegation took part in the events of the ministerial segment of the World Conference on the Development of Vocational Education.

Alexander Bakhanovich took part in the opening ceremony of the World Conference. At the plenary session, the main priorities of cooperation between the relevant ministries in matters of developing vocational education in line with the Sustainable Development Goals were discussed.

In an interview with one of the central TV channels of the PRC "China Global Television Network", Alexander Bakhanovich spoke in detail about the main issues of cooperation in the field of education, including the prospects for developing cooperation with the PRC in the field of vocational education.

During the meeting with the leadership of the Center for Language Education and Exchanges under the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, the parties noted the progress achieved in our country in the field of teaching the Chinese language.

A decision was made to continue the provision of methodological and organizational support for this activity by the Chinese side.

The current form and prospects for bilateral cooperation in the near and medium term were discussed during the meeting of the First Deputy Minister of Education of Belarus Alexander Bakhanovich with the Deputy Minister of Education of the People's Republic of China Wu Yan.
