Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin has signed a resolution to increase financial support for orphans. The document was drafted to improve the conditions of state support for orphans and children without parental care. It also updates the monetary standards for food expenses for students in educational institutions.

We'll explain how changes to state support standards will impact the lives of individual children and families.

IMPORTANT FIGURES TO KNOW:

+15% to nutritional standards for orphans in orphanages, boarding schools, and educational institutions.

This means a more varied menu, fresh fruits and vegetables, and high-quality protein products every day.

+5% to standards for clothing, footwear, and soft furnishings – every child in the foster care system will be provided with modern, seasonal clothing.

+5% for school supplies and hygiene products – everything necessary for learning and a healthy lifestyle.

On average, a 10% increase in monthly payments for family-type orphanages, foster families, and guardianship families. This is recognition of their important work!

+22% to payments for telephone and household services – maintaining contact with loved ones and ensuring comfortable living conditions.

IMPORTANT TO KNOW

Today, more than 65% of schoolchildren receive meals funded by the state budget. This is an important element of social support and care for the health of our children.

Hot meals are provided to over 1 million students in general secondary education institutions in Belarus.

Free meals are provided to:

▫️ all students in grades 1-4;

▫️ students in grades 5-11 living and studying in rural schools;

▫️ children from other privileged categories (large and low-income families, children with disabilities, students in sports classes, etc.) – on one confirmed basis.

WHAT WILL CHANGE IN SCHOOLS AND KINDERGARTENS?

▫️ Higher-quality nutrition for all students (+5%)

▫️ Focus on natural and balanced foods. Expanded menu, taking into account modern requirements for children's nutrition.

MAIN GOAL:

Not just increase funding, but ensure the QUALITY of life for every child. Healthy nutrition and adequate provision today are the key to a successful future tomorrow!

Child care is a priority for Belarusian state policy.
