Around fifteen hundred people gathered today at the Belarusian State Economic University to write a republican dictation dedicated to the National Unity Day.
Among the participants are Minister Andrei Ivanets, students, teachers and BSEU employees.
There was an online transmission of the dictation on youtube.com/@Moladz.by_. After finishing writing, everyone was able to correct mistakes themselves.
Before the start of the large-scale event, the Minister said: “Despite National Unity Day being the youngest Republican holyday of our sovereign Belarus, it truly became folk one. This tradition is important for every citizen of our country, youth especially, to understand the importance and relevance of the holyday, because it is difficult to overestimate the meaning of September 17, 1939. Thanks to restauration of justice our people united”.
After finishing his writing, Andrei Ivanets commented: “The text was difficult, but very important in content”.
BSEU sophomore Mariya Ermanova believes this day to be very important: “Everyone speaks about it. On September 17, an act of justice was committed because Western Belarus was part from Soviet Belarus after the signing of the Treaty of Riga and no doubt, this was meant to correct. Our country had to be united for our nation to develop and prosper as a united whole, developing politically and cultural-historically”.
This week’s motto for education system is National Unity Day. Schools will teach unity lessons, dedicated to the thematic event. Throughout the week, it is possible to meet with historians and civil servants who speak about importance and relevance of this historical data.
Andrei Ivanets believes it is important that every student and graduate be a patriot, because they will become a part of the national economy and enter the pedagogic working environment. That is why they actively involve student youth in this work.
