European Girls’ Olympiad on Informatics was taking place in Cesenatico, Italy from 12 to 18 May. The prestigious event based on the International Informatics Olympiad welcomed 247 young women from 68 countries.

Team Belarus’ result reached 100% as all four girls won medals.

Gold medals:

·        Anastasia Garbuz, 8 grade student at gymnasium No 51 of Gomel

·        Olga Kuntsevich, 11 grade student at gymnasium No 8 of Vitebsk

Silver medal:

·        Yana Denisuk, 11 grade student at gymnasium No 2 of Vitebsk

Bronze Medal:

·        Vladislava Bazhanova, 11 grade student at BSU Lyceum named after Felix Edmundovich Dzerzhinsky.

Team mentors were teachers Angelika Lapo (at BSU Lyceum named after F.E. Dzerzhinsky) and Veronca Laktina (at Gymnasium No 8 of Vitebsk).
