The admission to state-funded education ended yesterday, 17 July. "With the plan for admission to the budget set at 31.8 thousand, 46.1 thousand applicants submitted documents. Previously, 5.7 thousand target students and 500 winners of university Olympiads were enrolled. Based on the results of the submission of documents, about 4.4 thousand applicants are applying for admission without entrance examinations. These are winners of international and national Olympiads, holders of gold (silver) school medals, as well as college diplomas with honors, graduates of the National Children's Technopark, specialized classes and others, as well as about 700 people out of competition," Andrei Ivanets said.
According to him, high competition (more than 5 people per place) was noted in "graphic design and multimedia design", "information systems and technologies", "jurisprudence", "pediatrics" etc. "Many applicants submitted documents with total score higher than 390 points. Among such specialties are "dentistry", "global economy", "international economy and trade", "applied informatics", "translation studies", "software engineering". The admission rates for pedagogical specialties are increasing. Thus, at the M. Tank BSPU, with a plan for admission to full-time education in 1040 budget places, about 1.6 thousand applicants submitted documents, including 500 targeted students and about 1.1 thousand applicants on a general basis. Among them, about 250 graduates of pedagogical classes, 55 medalists, about 80 holders of college diplomas with honors. More than 300 applicants have a score of over 300 for admission. This year, 391 students were enrolled under a targeted agreement, which is about 40% of the total number of budget places and which is a third more than last year," the head of the educational department informed.
There is a demand for training specialists with higher education in regional universities, where 20.1 thousand applicants submitted documents with a budget admission plan of 14.7 thousand places. The largest competition for a place is at the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, Vitebsk State University named after P.M. Masherov, Belarusian-Russian University, Gomel State University named after Francisk Skaryna and Brest State Technical University.
The admission for the state-funded education on agricultural specialties and for military universities will end 19 July.
From July 18 to 25, universities will hold internal entry examinations for admission to creative specialties, to physical education and sports, as well as specialties with a shortened period of study for college graduates.
All freshman will be enrolled by 27 July inclusive. Information about enrollment will be posted on the information resources of universities and in applicants' personal accounts.
Admission to fee-paying education continues until 1 August, in agricultural universities until 2 August. The plan for admission is 16.4 thousand.
