Students of engineering classes will be involved in work in design bureaus that will be established on the basis of universities. This was announced by the Education Minister Andrei Ivanets at a meeting of the Republican Council of Rectors.

The meeting is considering issues of the concept of development of engineering education in Belarus until 2035, which includes all levels of education, counting general secondary.

– Of course, the connection of higher education with the real sector of the economy is important. The creation of competence centers on the basis of universities for the specific needs of personnel customers, as well as the creation of training classes at industrial enterprises where students will undergo practical training is very important. Currently, we are focused on a new form of involving young people in engineering activities - the creation of so-called youth design bureaus, - the Minister informed.

According to him, this will not only attract young people to engineering and technical education, but will also give them the opportunity to realize themselves already at the early stages of their professional activity, fulfilling specific orders of enterprises and receiving appropriate financial incentives for this.

There are already 175 engineering and technical centers operating on the basis of schools. This year, the first graduation will take place.
