Today Mogilev is hosting the II Republican Forum of Young Scientists. The forum, which started in the Belarusian-Russian University, brought together over 140 representatives from all universities of the country. Among them are students, undergraduates, graduate students and teaching stuff.

The events are also attended by leading scientists of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation, specialists from the Ministry of Education, the State Committee for Science and Technology, the National Academy of Sciences, the Higher Attestation Commission.

For young scientists, conferences, lectures, thematic sections, master classes, exhibitions and excursions will last two days. Forum participants will be able to learn about the advanced laboratories of the university and participate in thematic master classes.

During the plenary session, First Deputy Minister of Education Alexander Bakhanovich emphasized that another initiative aimed at popularizing science, attracting young talents to scientific activities, was further developed.

“Holding the Republican Forum of Young Scientists of Higher Education Institutions is becoming a good tradition. In our country, young people receive the closest attention, especially to youth science. Among such examples is the holding of the first meeting of the Congress of Young Scientists of Belarus and Russia on the eve of the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia in Minsk, at which important decisions were taken. Therefore, it is symbolic that we are holding the II Republican Forum of Young Scientists at the Belarusian-Russian University,” said Alexander Bakhanovich.

The representative of the department expressed his assurance that in the modern world, the development prospects of any country depend on the realization of its intellectual potential, effective scientific, technical and innovative activities. The brightest examples of the contribution of young scientists to scientific developments were shown at the exhibition "Belarus Intellectual".

“Such forums emphasize the importance and significance of your participation in the development of science, innovation, new technologies, building an IT country and developing the Republic of Belarus as a powerful intellectual state. A solid foundation in science has been done in Belarus, and the scientific and production potential has been preserved. From you, we expect new knowledge and breakthrough ideas that will contribute to the development of our country, improving the quality of people's lives," the representative of the department stated, addressing young scientists.

The primary role in supporting youth initiatives belongs to university science. University science is one of the basic components of the scientific system of our country. At the same time, scientists of higher EI are not only involved in scientific activities, but also train future highly qualified specialists for various sectors of the economy. Universities and scientific institutions carry out research in a wide range of areas. Among them are medicine and pharmaceuticals, information and communication, chemical and biotechnologies, materials science, power, construction, ecology, mechanical engineering.

In addition, to stimulate creativity and popularize science, the Ministry of Education and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus are holding a number of events, one of which is the Science Festival. This year, the event will start on August 26 at the Central Botanical Garden, and in September, it is planned to hold "Days of Scientific Youth" at the Polotsk State University.

On the second day of the forum, May 19, popular science lectures from leading scientists of Belarus and Russia will take place. The scientific conference of young scientists, which will be held in thematic sections, will continue the program.

Young scientists will also visit Mogilev State University A. Kuleshov University, a memorial on the Buinichsky field, Glory Square and they will enjoy study tours around the city.

The II Republican Forum of Young Scientists will end with a summing up.
