Participants of the Forum of Youth Public Organizations of the CIS countries inspire others to do good and useful things, said CIS Secretary General Sergey Lebedev in his greeting to the forum’s participants.
The Forum is being held from November 27 to 30 in St. Petersburg. It has been gathering young leaders of the Commonwealth countries for the ninth time, maintaining its role as a landmark place for meetings and discussions of topical issues of youth policy. "We highly appreciate the active civic position of the participants, which unites caring people who are ready to share their experience and inspire others to do good and useful things," said Sergey Lebedev.
According to him, it was the participants of this forum of previous years who initiated the preparation of the international project "Youth Capital of the CIS", which was successfully launched in the city of Tashkent. On their initiative, a decision was made to declare the Year of the Volunteer Movement in the Commonwealth, and they also became active developers of the action plan for its implementation.
"The program of this year's forum is very rich in its content and interesting. Each participant can initiate consideration of other issues that are important from his point of view," emphasized Sergey Lebedev. He expressed confidence that due to the trusting youth atmosphere, the forum will discuss relevant and socially significant topics, and the cultural pearl - the beautiful city of St. Petersburg will leave the most vivid memories.
Young people aged 18 to 35 from the CIS countries, leaders and activists of volunteer organizations, associations, movements, youth specialists from youth organizations and associations are invited to participate. The main topics of the 2024 forum are: volunteer activities in the CIS (results of the Year of the Volunteer Movement in the CIS and prospects for cooperation, presentation of successful projects and events of the countries), activities of youth specialists from the CIS member states (exchange of experience, successful practices of working with youth, acquaintance with the youth structures of the Commonwealth, presentation of opportunities in the countries for youth specialists).
