Today, the X Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia began its work in Ufa at the Congress Hall "Toratau".
The main topic is the "10th anniversary of the forum of the regions of Russia and Belarus: results and prospects".
This large-scale event, under the patronage of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus and the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, has been proving its effectiveness for more than a year.
Topical issues of the functioning of the Union State are being discussed at thematic sites, contracts are being concluded, and new business ties are being established.
The previous meeting of this format was held in Grodno with an emphasis on strengthening the role of interregional cooperation in deepening the integration processes of the Union State.
Minister of Education Andrei Ivanets, as part of the Belarusian delegation, is participating in official events and the plenary session.
At the section "Humanitarian cooperation between Belarus and Russia in the field of education and youth policy", the head of the Belarusian department outlined the important role of the Forum of Regions - in the context of harmonizing national education systems, it has important state and social significance in the life of our countries, serving to further promote the integration processes of Belarus and Russia and strengthening and expanding fruitful Belarusian-Russian cooperation.
Describing the development of cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation in the field of education, Andrei Ivanets first and foremost noted its multi-vector nature in a number of important aspects. The priority is youth. According to the Minister, in the challenges dictated by the modern world, it is extremely important to help young people choose the right worldview based on the preservation of historical memory.
Bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation in the field of youth policy is implemented in accordance with the signed agreement on cooperation in the field of youth policy and a plan of joint activities.
"I believe it is precisely in joint events that the readiness of our youth to become conductors of the ideas of union integration, to take over from the older generation, and actively implement modern innovative projects in various areas of state and social development is fully manifested," stressed Andrei Ivanets.
The second aspect on which the head of the department dwelled was the effective training of personnel for sectors of the economy, which should be carried out according to the principle of continuity. In this regard, the need was noted to intensify work on harmonizing the professional qualification structure, levels, and stages of continuing professional education for high-tech and knowledge-intensive industries in Belarus and Russia.
Another point that was voiced at the section is cooperation in the field of science. Scientific and scientific-technical cooperation between universities of the Ministry of Education system is effectively carried out with universities and organizations in almost all regions of the Russian Federation. More than 700 joint scientific and scientific-methodological conferences take place annually. At the same time, the Minister of Education drew attention to a significant factor: supporting young talents and intellectuals, stimulating their interest in scientific activities is an important investment in the scientific and technological development of any country.
As a result of the presentation, a number of proposals were made. Among the key ones are the intensification of work on the development of historical and patriotic youth tourism; increase in the enrollment of students from the Russian Federation in institutions of higher education of the Republic of Belarus; stepping up work on finalizing and coordinating the regulation "On the Union State Prize for Young Scientists".
"I express confidence that the decisions made during the section 'Humanitarian cooperation between Russia and Belarus. The results of the decade and development prospects' will allow us to take further steps in strengthening cooperation in the field of education and will serve to strengthen the friendly ties of our peoples and states!" summed up the Minister of Education Andrey Ivanets.
By the way, the program of the anniversary event is quite diverse. Breakout sessions will traditionally cover a wide range of topics: humanitarian cooperation, public diplomacy, implementation of a unified industrial and agricultural policy, tourism, volunteer agenda, modern information technologies.
It is planned to sign intergovernmental and interregional cooperation agreements. Cultural, educational, and sporting events will also take place.
