
March 1, A large scale event of the year – World Festival of Youth kicks-off in Sochi. 20, 000 people and more than 150 countries will gather in the Olympic park located in Sirius, Russia. Young people represent different continents, nationalities, religions and cultures but they all will unite to negotiate how to do well in order to lead a worthy life, work and study in the multipolar world.
Belarusian delegation is one of the largest. It has almost 650 active, creative and motivated members ready to do their best to present our youth’s experience. The delegation consists of students, representatives of the volunteer center, young scientists, BRSM and BRPO members. On average: 60 representatives from every region.
To add, during the recruitment period the main search criteria for a member of the delegation was young people who are leaders in their specialized field, and who can lead others.
Deputy Minister Alexander Kadlubai believes Festival to be an example of youth diplomacy because youngsters will meet for experience exchange. Moreover, it is important for them to “garner the experience” of other states, necessary treaties and establish business cooperation not only at the level of youth and social unions but state one as well.
The festival will last seven bright and joyful days and there will be rich educational, cultural, scientific and sports events. Guests of the Festival will be able to take part in exciting master classes, discussions, panel sessions and training sessions, see performances by the best creative groups, and in the evenings have a great time at concerts and talk shows with famous artists and other participants of WFY-2024.
The heart of the territory of the festival is Medalnaya Square that is to be called “Russian soul” during the festival. The square houses campuses of the largest cities of Russian and their respective sister cities. There will be five such pavilions in all: “Belgorod”, “Moscow”, “Nizhny-Novgorod”, “Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug”, “Kazan”.
The Pushkin-225 Palace of Culture, where Ilya Averbukh’s ice show will take place, will become part of the city’s festival infrastructure. The World Friendship Games sports arena will host spectacular sports shows, events and master classes with the participation of sports stars in various disciplines. In the Techno-park you will be able to take a breathtaking opportunity to talk with the geniuses of the past using artificial intelligence.
On the ground floor of the Bolshoi Stadium, which will host the opening and closing of the Festival, there will be an International Mall “Art.Molodost. A large-scale fair of young art and folk arts and crafts will also be held in the mall.
In the gastronomic section “Tasting Russia” everyone will be able to try multinational cuisine.
On the other side of Medalnaya Square there will be an Art Park “Russia in Miniature”, where 32 art objects will be presented. All of them were made by college students from 32 regions of Russia.
Thus, the entire Festival program will be organized with the participation of young people themselves.
