Deputy Minister of Education Ekaterina Petrutskaya tells about how participation in this charitable event helps children find good feelings hidden in them and it provides care to elder people.

- Respect towards seniors is an important pedagogic task, Ekaterina Petrutskaya noted. “With all my soul” event helps children discover good feelings and give their care.

According to Ekaterina Petrutskaya, participation means direct actions not just words about education process. Every education establishment has a volunteer organization and in all there are more than 70 thousand volunteers involved.

- Our kids visit veteran’s homes, help clean a house, buy necessary items and groceries, they decorate Christmas trees and make festive atmosphere, explained deputy minister.

National volunteers center is an active organizer, said Ekaterina Petrutskaya. It coordinates work and helps prepare events.

- These guys are kind-hearted. They are ready to do good not only for their grannies and grandpas but for everyone whose relatives are not close enough, added Ekaterina Petrutskaya.

Among the event’s initiatives is “Be close to me”, when kids send greeting cards to elder people. There is also “Day of good actions” when schoolchildren visit veteran’s homes and help.

With the joint efforts of the state, education establishments and guys themselves we can make a warm atmosphere and let elders understand they’re not alone, said Ekaterina Petrutskaya.

She believes this event instills such qualities as responsibility and belonging.

- Education process is not a combination of words, its direct actions. Such projects help children understand the importance of good deeds and develop into good people, summarized Ekaterina Petrutskaya.
