Caring for older people is one of the priorities of the state policy of the Republic of Belarus. At the end of last year, the Head of State called for special attention to be paid to older people. And now for the second year the republican charity marathon “With all my heart” continues its journey across the country.
The main participants in the campaign were veterans of the Great Patriotic War, people who suffered from the consequences of the war, centenarians, labor veterans, single and elderly citizens living alone.
They always receive special attention in our country. And now, during the holidays, there is even more of it.
Today, the management of the Ministry of Education visited the day care department for elderly citizens of the territorial center for social services for the population of the Frunzensky district of Minsk.
For the guests and staff of the institution, the head of the department said warm words of congratulations on the upcoming New Year holidays and presented a cash certificate for strengthening the material and technical base.

Minister of Education Andrei Ivanets emphasized that in these magical days it is very important to give your warmth, a piece of your soul to older people.
“We are obliged not only to preserve the connection between generations, but to make it popular. Visiting such institutions, you understand that each of us must make a personal contribution so that every person in our country smiles, is happy and feels protected,” Andrei Ivanets is convinced.
The head of the department also noted that today the education, healthcare, and social protection systems work in close cooperation, starting from birth, when children need a special trajectory in education, adaptation, and integration. Specialists from correctional and developmental training and rehabilitation centers help improve the quality of life of children with special needs and children with disabilities by creating optimal conditions for education, socialization and comprehensive development.
The Ministry of Education is also in close cooperation with territorial service centers for the population. It is effective and qualified assistance in adaptation and rehabilitation that will help such children get a start in life in the future. And in this regard, the efforts of teachers, psychologists, and doctors are united in a common desire - every child with special needs should become an ordinary, good, full-fledged member of our society.
After a heartfelt conversation, a concert program full of incendiary numbers was shown to the guests and participants of the meeting by volunteers from educational institutions and representatives of the Eureka Center for Additional Education for Children and Youth.
By the way, the Frunzensky district of the capital is home to the largest number of people of retirement age – 124 thousand.
The campaign “With all my heart” will end on January 15, but the marathon of good deeds does not end there. Representatives of government agencies, public associations and young people will continue to help older people with the purchase of medicines, groceries, and cleaning of apartments and local areas.
