Our team did their best during the 2nd International Math Olympiad in Ashkhabad, Turkmenistan winning one gold, four silver and two bronze medals.

Our guys won seven medals out of eight! Congratulations to them and their teachers.

The international intellectual competition was won by eighth-graders from Minsk Secondary School No. 25 Maksim Voronko, Minsk Gymnasium No. 41 named after V.Kh. Serebryany Ivan Savitsky and Gleb Khursin, and Minsk Gymnasium No. 13 Ekaterina Zubkovskaya. The winning team also included 10th-graders from the BSU Lyceum named after F.E. Dzerzhinsky Timur Fedorenko, Alexey Valentyuk, Evgeny Vermeenko and Alexander Unukovsky. The team’s captain was Alexandra Lukina, she is a math teacher at the lyceum.

In total, more than 230 participants from 15 countries competed for the championship in the Olympiad. Belarus managed to beat China, Russia, Iran, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Vietnam, Bulgaria, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Armenia, Nepal, and Qatar.

Let's wish good luck to our guys at the 66th International Mathematical Olympiad, which will be held this year in Queensland, Australia, from July 10 to 20.
