Belarus, 4 June. Belarusian team is now back after the 2nd Abu Rayhan Biruni International Chemistry Olympiad with 2 silver and 2 bronze medals.
The event took place in a wonderful capital of Uzbekistan – Tashkent from 28 May to 3 June. Fourteen countries joined the Olympiad and a whopping 111 pupils partook.
Silver was won by tenth-grade students, and bronze by ninth-grade students. Our silver medalists are Dmitry Anishkevich of Borisov Gymnasium #3 and Alexei Stepanov of Minsk Gymnasium #41 named after Serebryany V.H.
Nine graders Valeria Kozlova of Brest middle school #28 and Eugenia Sudarikova of Vitebsk gymnasium #2 are this year bronze medalists.
To participate in this fabulous international event one needed to win a Belarusian 2025 chemistry Olympiad and hope to be selected as a national representative. BSU staff headed by dean of Chemistry Department Alexander Zuraev served as team mentors. Julia Stolbunova, a specialist on provision of education process was chosen as team leader.
