The New Year's charity campaign “Our Children” is successfully spreading across the country. Minister of Education Andrei Ivanets, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Commander of the Internal Troops Major General Nikolai Karpenkov, assistant to the chairman of the central council of the Presidential Sports Club Pavel Egorov, accompanied by Father Frost and the Snow Maiden came to the guys from the military-patriotic clubs “Granit”, “Rys”, “Otvaga” and “Doblest” to congratulate them and present gifts.

Congratulating the students of military-patriotic clubs, Nikolai Karpenkov noted the positive effect of organizing such clubs, in which real strong teams have been created with children who love their Motherland and acquire the right life guidelines. “We have a huge, friendly, powerful family: hundreds of excellent students, dozens of those entered universities and parents feel happy. We all try to be strong and brave. We love our relatives and defend the country, we are ready to perform feats and cherish the memory of the Great Victory. For the third year in a row, we gather on New Year's Eve to congratulate the heroes of our time who are an example for many, including adults. Guys, I wish all the desires that are in your children’s hearts come true.” – said Mr. Karpenko.

In his turn, the Minister of Education Andrei Ivanets said warm and sincere words to the young defenders of the Fatherland: “New Year is a time when it is customary to sum up and make plans for the future. You have done a lot over the past year. Let the names of your clubs become your life motto. I wish you good health, strong spirit, harmony and peace.”

The Honored Band of the Republic of Belarus, the exemplary orchestra of the internal troops concluded the event with a festive concert.

To add, in Belarus there is a systematic work on the military-patriotic education of youth established at the state level. The ideological inspirer and initiator of the creation of military-patriotic clubs in our country was the Head of State two years ago.

Pupils of military-patriotic clubs are role-models for young people. Boys and girls in these clubs learn new skills and abilities, such as: fire, medical and general physical training, hand-to-hand combat, military topography and basic life safety. A mandatory item is the study of Belarusian statehood and the history of the native land as part of the series of subjects “Me and My Fatherland.” For active guys, this is a great way to get a taste of army life, become more disciplined and purposeful. Many of the students having joined such clubs, plan to become defenders of the Fatherland in the future and are focused on entering military universities.

The network of military-patriotic clubs has expanded significantly. At the beginning of the year there were 38 clubs, today there are more than 50.
