May 23. The Academy of Education hosted the III Republican Conference “Warmth of Hearts”, dedicated to International Day of Families and World Children’s Day. Chancellor Irina Starovoitova opened the conference.

The organizers have set global goals that can be achieved by involvement of every caring person in the process. First of all, it is improving the quality of work to support family arrangements for orphans and children left without parental care. The participants also discussed topical issues of the activities of guardianship and trusteeship authorities related to the protection of the rights of the child, including in interaction with the courts, notaries, and the exchange of work experience.

The conference was attended by Judge of the Supreme Court of Belarus Vera Krugova, representatives of the Belarusian Chamber of Notaries, the National Adoption Center, the Main Information and Analytical Center, the main education departments of regional executive committees, the Education Committee of the Minsk City Executive Committee, education departments of city district executive committees (district administrations), institutes for the development of education, social and pedagogical centers, public organizations, foster parents, parent-teachers of family-type orphanages.

The conference participants noted that in Belarus there have been certain positive results in the development of the family structure of children left without parental care.

Within the framework of the conference, there have been a seminar-meeting “Topical issues of the work of guardianship and trusteeship authorities”, dialogue platforms “Successes and difficulties of foster families in raising adopted children”, “Organization of support for foster families by specialists from educational institutions”, as well as a methodological exhibition, interactive platforms, advisory center, master classes, training sessions, case sessions on working with foster families, providing psychological and pedagogical assistance and socio-pedagogical support to children, guardians, foster parents, and parent-educators. Everything possible was done for the colossal experience exchange to create an increasing number of happy families where a child’s smile will never fade.
