Minsk, June 30. Thousand state funded places to be allocated to Russians who passed USE Education Minister Andrei Ivanets reported following the talks in the government of Prime Minister Alexander Turchin and the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Valery Falkov.
"Today, three key issues were discussed during bilateral talks. The first is joint training of personnel and advanced training of personnel. This primarily concerns the specialists who are needed for the economy of the Union State," said Andrei Ivanets.
An agreement was reached to launch joint educational programs in key areas from 2026/2027 academic year. The partners are the leading universities of the two countries - BSU, BNTU, BSUIR and Bauman Moscow State Technical University.
Among the issues discussed was that of equal conditions for applicants receiving education in the Union State. According to the Minister, for the second year, Belarusian universities have been accepting Russians on a budget based on the results of the Unified State Exam. This mechanism allows for a simplified procedure (no need to visit the Centralized Examination or Centralized Testing place in Belarus) to submit documents and enroll in a university. "A fairly large range of universities has been identified - more than 30. About a thousand places are expected this year for students to enroll in this trajectory," Andrei Ivanets informed.
Russian applicants can enroll in universities through a single competition with Belarusian students by passing the Centralized Testing.
Another issue that was discussed was academic mobility, the involvement of the reserve faculty of the two countries in the training of specialists.
The events of the Union State, which envisage an exchange of about 50 professors from the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus starting next year in order to give lectures and undergo internships at leading universities in the two countries, are at a high level of readiness, the Minister said.
