This year’s finale of the Union State School Olympiad to be held in Vitebsk

Minsk, 20 October. Vitebsk, one of the oldest cities in Belarus is set to host the final round of the annual Union State School Olympiad "Russia and Belarus: Historical and Spiritual Commonality" in the subjects of "Russian Language" and "Russian Literature" from 26 to 31 October.

The qualifying round of the Olympiad has already concluded 1 October. Currently, approximately 200 talented high school students from all regions of Belarus, Minsk, the F.E. Dzerzhinsky Lyceum of Belarusian State University, and 24 regions of Russia are preparing for the final round to compete with distinction in the intellectual and creative challenges.

The Olympiad program includes:
- essay writing (essay, reasoning, or review);
- comprehensive work on Russian language and literature;
- creative competitions "Rhetorical Mastery" and "Expressive Literary Reading."

The assignment topics focus on shared history, spiritual heritage, and significant anniversaries of 2025:
· The 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War,
· The Year of Improvement in Belarus,
· The Year of Defender of the Fatherland in Russia,
· As well as the anniversaries of great cultural and literary figures.

In addition to the competition, participants will enjoy a rich cultural and educational program, including an introduction to the history and culture of the Vitebsk region and visits to iconic sites and museums.

The Olympiad, held since 2004, is one of the key educational projects of the Union State. It strengthens the unified cultural and educational space, fosters patriotism, and respect for the shared roots of the two fraternal peoples.
