From January 12th to 16th, the third regional (Minsk City) stage of the Republican Olympiad in academic subjects will be held at regional educational institutions and the F.E. Dzerzhinsky Lyceum of Belarusian State University.
High school students will demonstrate their knowledge and skills in 18 subjects: Physical Education and Health, Biology, Labor Training, Belarusian Language and Literature, Russian Language and Literature, Chemistry, Physics, Astronomy, Mathematics, Computer Science, History of Belarus in the Context of World History, Social Science, Geography, English, Chinese, German, Spanish, and French.
The rounds themselves will start on January 13th. Depending on the specifics of the subject, these may include theoretical, practical, experimental, testing, creative, and multimedia tasks. Participants' performances will be evaluated by a jury of university professors and school teachers.
This stage is particularly important because it provides real advantages when applying to universities. Winners (holders of first, second, and third-place diplomas) of the third stage of the Republican Olympiad are eligible to apply without entrance examinations:
* to regional universities – for specialties for which this subject is a core subject;
* to Minsk universities – for specialties most in demand by the economy.
The Olympiad is an opportunity to prove oneself and is an important step toward a successful future in higher education. We wish the participants confidence, inspiration, and brilliant victories!
