January 19, Minsk State Linguistic University held a meeting of the interdepartmental board of the Ministry of Education. The parties considered the interaction of educational institutions with public organizations “Belarusian Republican Youth Union” and “Belarusian Republican Pioneer Organization”.

The meeting of the board was attended by: management and specialists of the Ministry of Education, members of the board, deputy chairmen of regional executive committees, the Minsk City Executive Committee, supervising the social sphere and other important members.

The topic of the board was not chosen by chance. There are about 1.6 million young citizens in the Republic of Belarus. The state's systematic work to support young citizens, the openness of the authorities and their devotion to young people allow youngsters to actively participate in the processes of developing government decisions and find their career and social path in life.

A little more than 180 youth public organizations are officially registered and operating in the country. At the same time, it was announced that only two public associations - the Belarusian Republican Youth Union and the Belarusian Republican Pioneer Organization have more than 800 thousand young citizens in their ranks. The number of active and purposeful young people is constantly increasing. Moreover, the system of educational institutions accounts for 75% of the members of BRPO and BRYU.

In institutions of general secondary education, the number of members of the NGO "Belarusian Republican Youth Union" was 138,791 (2,681 primary organizations), in institutions of secondary specialized education - 67,851 people (288 primary organizations), in institutions of higher education - 83,272 people (87 primary organizations).

Among the key areas of activity are the education of active civil position in children and youth; formation of a healthy lifestyle among young people; development of the student and volunteer movement; legal education and expansion of the youth information space.

Students, workers and pupils actively participate in the socio-political life of the country.

The Board took a number of important decisions. Among them, targeted advanced training courses jointly with regional (Minsk City) educational development institutes, for teaching staff on working with public associations, in particular with the Belarusian Republican Youth Union and the BRPO, as well as structural units of local executive and administrative bodies, the ones exercising state power in the field of education will include priority projects and programs of the NGO "BRYU" and NGO "BRPO" in plans for ideological and educational work.

In general, as noted at the board, a system of interaction between educational institutions, government bodies, local authorities with BRPO and BRSM has been built. A planned approach is also implemented in conducting events and implementing projects. Thus, both of these organizations have occupied their niches in the structure of state youth policy.
