On June 21, 2023, the solemn awarding ceremony of the winners of the XXIX Republican competition of scientific works of students took place in the assembly hall of the Belarusian State Economic University.

Among the invited are – First Deputy Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus A.G. Bakhanovich, First Deputy State Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Belarus P.N. Muraveiko, Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus S.V. Shlychkov, Rector of the State Educational Institution "University of the National Academy of Sciences Belarus” M.G. Zhilinsky.

The XXIX Republican competition of scientific works of students took place from October 1, 2022 to March 10, 2023. Students and graduates of 54 institutions of higher education, including branches, who submitted 3067 scientific papers, took part in the competition. Among the authors of the works there are students of all courses and magistracy. More than half of the authors (52%) are graduates of the Higher Educational Institution (1600 people), undergraduates - 361 people, students and cadets - 1386 people.

According to the results of the competition, the title of laureate was awarded to the authors of 54 scientific papers (43 scientific papers were prepared individually, 11 scientific papers were co-authored). Diplomas of the Ministry of Education and cash prizes in the amount of 8 basic units will be awarded to 43 people who prepared scientific papers individually, diplomas of the Ministry of Education and cash prizes in the amount of 4 basic units - to 22 people who prepared scientific papers in co-authorship.

The quality of the competition works of students is largely determined by the professionalism of their supervisors. Competitive works were prepared under the guidance of 2207 employees, of which 203 people - Doctors of Sciences, 1365 people - Candidates of Sciences and 639 people - without a degree.

As the analysis shows, the results of more than 90% of competitive works have already been published, reported at conferences, introduced into the educational process and production. In total, the participants of the competition published 8847 articles and 5217 abstracts of reports, introduced 5163 developments into production and the educational process, received 75 intellectual property documents (patents, patent applications, rationalization proposals).
