The Republican competition is held from January to November 2024. The emphasis is on identifying and spreading successful experience in implementing the educational project “Green Schools”, improving the methodological competence of teaching staff.

The competition is organized by the Republican Center for Ecology and Local History with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus.

Among the participants are managers and teaching staff of preschool educational institutions, general secondary, vocational, secondary specialized education institutions, institutions of additional education for children and youth.

Among the priority tasks of the thematic competition is to develop the creative initiative and professional potential of teaching staff, and to promote support for talented and competent specialists.

To prepare and conduct the competition officials inaugurate district, oblast, Minsk city and republican organizing committees.

The competition has 4 stages:

Stage I is preparatory one. It is organized from January to May in institutions of preschool, general secondary, vocational, secondary specialized education and additional education for children and youth. It includes the preparation of competition materials in accordance with the terms of the competition and their submission to the regional organizing committee.

Stage II – Regional one. It will take place from June to August. The regional organizing committee organizes the examination of competition materials and determines the winners and prize-winners of the regional stage.

Stage III – Oblast, Minsk city. It will span across September-October. The oblast and Minsk city organizing committees determine the winners and prize-winners of the corresponding stage of the competition and provide their competition materials to the republican organizing committee.

Stage IV is the republican (final) stage to take place in November.

According to the terms of the republican competition “Best practices for implementing the educational project “Green Schools” in educational institutions,” materials that were not presented at previous competitions or the content of which has been modified in accordance with modern requirements are accepted for the final stage of the competition.

The competition is held in certain categories.

To participate in the “Ecological Project” nomination, a project is provided that is being implemented in an educational institution in one or more areas of the “Green Schools” educational project.

In turn, in the “Model of Environmental Education” the development of a model of environmental education in an educational institution is provided in the context of the implementation of the educational project “Green Schools”.

In the “Ecological Magazine” nomination, the basis is a magazine containing a brief description of the life and activities of students in the context of the implementation of a competitive educational project.

The examination of the submitted materials is carried out by the jury of the republican stage of the competition. Evaluation criteria include relevance; originality, novelty; quality of content and quality of design, general literacy.

The winners and runners-up of the competition will be awarded I, II, III degree diplomas from the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus and the Republican Center for Ecology and Local History.
