Ministry of Education and institutions of learning jointly with contracting-organizations seeking personnel and with republican bodies of state control organize certain effective events aimed to solve tasks of preparing highly qualified personnel for economic sectors.

The head of the main department of vocational education of the Ministry of Education Sergei Pischov noted that the issues of the development of higher education system are relevant and never lose a tiny bit of its relevance.

There is an ingoing work in the country on formation of target figures for admission counting real necessity in personnel. “We closely interact with the Ministry of labor and social defense and with contracting-organizations seeking personnel” said Sergei Pischov.

Moreover, it is noted that institutions of higher learning form their respective targets for admission on budget seats and paid ones counting the existing necessity on the employment market for graduates to be able to find employment and become the mean contenders on the market. Thusly, we have trends for admission figures and control admission figures.

The Ministry launches dozens of events on organizing an admission campaign. It puts emphasize on creating equal opportunities for admission, i.e. creates additional incentives for gifted and motivated students.

Regional institutions can enjoy additional opportunities. There are regional olympiads and students can already send application forms to be found on institution’s web sites. It is possible to apply now for a university Olympiad and prepare yourself to become a student facing no admission exams on your way! But a win is a must. Says Sergei Pischov.

BSU rector Andrei Karol says: “We see motivation level soar in the minds of students and it reaches a level never seen before. This year we had 92,4% percent of applicants score more than 300 points. We got used to excellent and motivated guys but seeing a solid result allows us to conclude that students have a solid desire to study. One third of students were school medal awardees and they end up with summa cum laude.

BSUIR rector is convinced that today it is no longer enough to have 300 points to enter the budget. The university is quite popular among applicants. And the university has quite close contact with customers. Accordingly, the volume of planned training at the university varies from 2.7 thousand to 3 thousand people. 

The university administration responds very quickly to the labor market and to the demands that are coming now.

“For a number of programs, customers say that they need graduates with a master’s degree. As a result, we are moving to continuous educational programs when a person receives both an engineering qualification and a master’s degree after training,” said Vadim Bogush.

Speaking about new specialties, the rector noted the specialty in microelectronics, which will be implemented under a continuous educational program. A new specialty in electronic engineering has also been developed. “They are included in the classifier, and soon the Ministry of Education will make a final decision on these specialties, and we will include them in the admission procedures. We plan to recruit students in these specialties as early as 2024,” added Vladimir Bogush.
