This week marked the beginning of the Month for the improvement and bringing into proper condition of infrastructures and territories of settlements, historical and cultural values, memorial complexes, places of combat and military glory during the Great Patriotic War.
This is especially important now, in the Year of Peace and Creation, when the value of peace, the unity of the nation, citizenship and patriotism, and creative work acquire special meaning.
Such initiatives are an excellent opportunity for team building and effective spending of time on Saturday.
Traditionally, representatives of the Ministry of Education and student youth take part in the large-scale event.
Today, from the very morning, employees of structural divisions of the Ministry of Education, together with students, began cleaning and landscaping the territory at two sites - the Ratom Secondary School in the Minsk region and the dormitory under construction at the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radio Electronics.
Before the start of the event on the territory of the agro-town Ratomka of the Minsk region, flowers were laid at the obelisk at the mass grave of Soviet soldiers and the grave of Nikolai Ishutin - Hero of the Soviet Union, commander of the rifle battalion of the 207th Guards Rifle Regiment of the 70th Guards Rifle Division of the 13th Army of the Central Front. A rifle battalion under the command of Nikolai Ishutin successfully crossed the Dnieper and Pripyat from September 20 to 30, 1943. During this time, he repelled several fascist attacks. He was awarded the title of Hero of the USSR on October 16, 1943.
Then the department's labor force began landscaping the square, trimming dead wood, cutting down bushes, and planting seedlings and ornamental shrubs.
Also on this day, a meeting between the Minister of Education Andrei Ivanets and teachers of the Minsk region took place at the Ratomka secondary school. Current issues of the educational process, civic-patriotic education, and organization of leisure time for students on the sixth day of school were discussed.
A wide range of works was also carried out on the basis of the new fifth dormitory of BSUIR with the participation of First Deputy Minister of Education Alexander Bakhanovich, Deputy Minister of Education Alexander Kadlubay, Rector of BSUIR Vadim Bogush together with the students removed construction waste and dormitory rooms. The hostel should be put into operation this year.
During the improvement, the leadership of the Ministry of Education shared the opinion that collective work brings together, consolidates on useful things that will benefit the country. And the task of each of us is to take care of the cleanliness of our beloved Belarus.
