The Republican Youth House hosted a meeting of the Republican Commission to sum up the results of the second season of the youth initiatives competition.

The Commission for the evaluation and selection of applications for participants in the competition of youth initiatives, chaired by the Minister of Education Andrey Ivanets, included representatives of executive authorities, deputies, leading public associations of the country, the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus, the Council of Young Scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Council of Working Youth.

Applications started on April 8 and ended on May 8. During this time, the Organizing Committee of the Competition received 219 applications. Each application had a detailed description of the idea, cost estimates, implementation plan and the expected outcome.

Speaking about the competition, the Minister of Education Andrey Ivanets stressed that today such a format of interaction among young people is in demand.

“We should pay attention to some projects at the levels of the district and region. And we will jointly select at the national level those projects that can really make a solid contribution to the implementation of the state youth policy at the state level,” Andrei Ivanets noted.

Among the main evaluation criteria is the relevance and social significance of the initiative. The projects affect various areas: the preservation of historical memory, the formation of museum expositions, the IT sector, the opening of co-working centers and innovative modular sites. In addition, applications were received in the field of international cooperation and improvement. There are many different offers related to the development of the information space, including mobile applications, websites, and interesting platforms.

The commission considered each application in details and chose 20 best ones. This projects and institutions realizing them will receive financial support. If a project failed to win, one can improve it and apply next year. Applications for the third season are scheduled to be accepted in September-October this year.

The main direction of the implementation of youth initiatives is the creation of conditions for supporting the active participation of young citizens in socio-economic and socio-political processes, the formation and implementation of state youth policy.
