On September 10, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed Decree No. 310 "On the Establishment of the Academy of Intellectual Technologies."
Starting September 1, 2027, the Academy will begin training specialists in the fields of natural sciences, industrial and digital technologies, and other promising areas.
Admissions will be based on a unique selection process in the form of a national competition open to school graduates, college and university students, industry professionals, and researchers. Preliminary selection rounds will be held in Minsk, regional centers, and major cities. Applicants wishing to study at the Academy will be required to present a creative idea, a development, an invention, or a proposal for process improvement.
The final stage of the selection process consists of an intensive practical course at the Academy, involving individual and group assignments, a public project defense, and an internal entrance examination.
Leading scientists, educators, executives, and industry practitioners who have achieved significant success in the scientific, innovation, and production sectors will be involved in the Academy’s educational process.
A special approach also applies to training programs, which can be adjusted based on industry demands. Students will be able to select their own specialized courses, complementary areas of focus, or specific majors. Training will include on-site experience at enterprises—involving the resolution of real-world production challenges—as well as group and individual project work and research activities. All of this will facilitate the development of tangible products ready for implementation in the real economy and for commercialization.
Experimental curricula and advanced teaching methods successfully piloted at the Academy will be implemented in other educational institutions, thereby further enhancing the quality of specialist training.
Upon completion of the program, students are required to pass a state examination and defend either a startup project or an applied research project.
The coordination and oversight of the Academy’s operations will be carried out by a supervisory board headed by the Minister of Education. The board will include the heads of sectoral ministries and agencies, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, and the High-Tech Park.
The establishment of the Academy will enable the creation of a flexible, interdisciplinary research and educational environment of a new type—one focused on practical outcomes and integrated into real economic processes, while addressing the country's needs.
