The 9th Congress of Teachers and Education Workers of CIS Countries kicks off in Minsk

High-level delegations of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are taking part in the forum held at Belarusian National Library. The forum’s main topic is “Integrational processes in education spheres of the CIS member states in terms of modern challenges”.

Speaking at the plenary meeting, Belarusian Education Minister Andrei Ivanets drew attention at the importance of joint work in a hard time: “Like most CIS states, we are facing the challenges of modern times… That is why we teach our young people to keep our own, our national, we teach to defend our beautiful, peaceful and independent country. We are sure international cooperation in education plays important role in terms of modern challenges. The current forum helps to think over the way each country is going, to evaluate the job performed and determine new ways to realize the potential of the common education space”.

First day schedule: a plenary meeting featuring speeches by leaders of delegations, a ceremony honoring outstanding educators with the "Excellence in Education of the Commonwealth of Independent States" badge, and the opening of the 4th International Festival of Pedagogical Excellence.

Tomorrow, October 2, the business program will continue with seven thematic sessions hosted by the capital's leading educational institutions and the second (in-person) stage of the International Festival of Pedagogical Excellence.
