Education for the future of the country
Published: 19.12.2025

Minsk, 19 December. Teachers, students, university administrators, and education specialists actively responded to the results of the second session of the VII Belarusian People’s Congress and the President's Address. Discussion of key areas of socioeconomic development for the upcoming 2026-2030 period generated broad public debate. Three issues, namely improving the quality of education, strengthening human resources, modernization of vocational and higher education institutions were recognized as priorities.

Belarusian Education Minister Andrei Ivanets emphasized:

"Education is an unwavering priority for the state. The new five-year plan will be a time for large-scale modernization of colleges, strengthening the link between higher education, science, economics, as well as to boost the competitiveness of our students on the international stage."

Rectors of leading universities emphasized access to education, support for young professionals, regional development, and strengthening the role of teachers in society. Students and young scientists emphasized the importance of focusing on people: housing, transportation, family values, and decent working conditions.

The Head of State's statement that "strong regions make a strong country" received particular attention, as did his call for a "time of specific actions" when everyone, from schoolchildren to professors, contributes to the future of our native Belarus.

Education in the new five-year plan is not only about training personnel but also about national security, demographic stability, and technological sovereignty. Together, we are building a common home—a strong, just, and Belarusian one.
