Students of the Republic of Belarus performed well at the 35th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI 2023)

Belarusian team took part in the 35th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI2023), which lasted for one week from August 28 to September 4 in Seged, Hungary.

IOI is one of the most prestigious intellectual competitions on computing among students.

The first ever competition took place in 1989 in Pravets, Bulgaria. According to the official rules, students compete individually. Each country can register four competitors. There are two stages with three tasks in each for students to complete using several computing skills. There is a five hour time limit in each stage.

In 2023, the Olympiad welcomed 360 participants from 89 countries.

Our team’s result is a silver and three bronze medals, which means everyone has won a medal.

Antashkevich Dmitry, a graduate of the Gymnasium No. 2 of Mogilev, who won a silver medal; Brel Mikhail, a student of the IX grade of the state educational institution "Secondary School No. 27 of Gomel", Koshman Grigory, a graduate of the XI class of the state educational institution "Gymnasium named after Yanka Kupala", Morozov Vladimir, a graduate of the state educational institution "Lyceum of the Belarusian State University", who all won bronze medals at the 35th International Olympiad in Informatics.

We thank the team leaders Alexander Andreevich Buslavsky, senior lecturer of the Department of Discrete Mathematics and Algorithms of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Informatics of the Belarusian State University and Aleksey Valentinovich Borunov, teacher of additional education of the state educational institution "Center for Young Firefighters in Mozyr" for the high-quality training of the Belarusian team and work on 35th International Olympiad in Informatics!
