In June 2024 the joint Belarusian-Russian cultural and educational project "Memory Train" initiated by the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus will start for the third time. In 2022 and 2023 this patriotic action provided a unique opportunity for 400 children from Belarus, Russia, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan (tenth grade students, activists, winners of Olympiads and military-patriotic contests) to take part in memorial celebrations related to the events of the Great Patriotic War.

In 2022, 100 schoolchildren from Belarus and Russia took part in the project, in 2023 - 70 participants from Belarus, 90 from Russia, 20 each from Armenia and Kyrgyzstan. This year the project "Train of Remembrance" will be joined by representatives of Azerbaijan in addition to young people from Belarus, Russia, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan. The negotiation process to expand the number of countries participating in the project is currently underway. This is a clear example that we share common values about historical memory. In February 2024, there was held an organizing committee set up to prepare the joint Belarusian-Russian project "Memory Train". It included representatives of the Council of the Republic, republican state administration bodies, regional executive committees, Minsk City Executive Committee and some other organizations".

Within the framework of the project it is planned to visit 13 settlements, 7 of which are in Russia, 6 are in Belarus. The train will visit such cities of our country as Brest, Grodno, Polotsk, Mogilev, Gomel and Minsk. The project will be funded by the Union State.

The selection of participants of the project "Memory Train" started in Belarusian institutions of general secondary education on February 1, 2024. It will be completed by April 1. As a result of the contest, the best of the best, the most active, purposeful and talented representatives of the Belarusian youth will be determined," said the upper house of parliament. The organizer of the national contest "I'm a patriot of my country" is the Ministry of Education. The contest is held in 4 stages (in educational institutions, district, regional and national). It includes the following tests: portfolio, presentation card, essay "About that spring...". Participants are tenth grade students who have achieved high performance in academic, social, sports, volunteer activities, leaders of student self-government, activists of public organizations, students of military-patriotic, cadet classes, pupils of military-patriotic clubs. Following the results 8 representatives from the regions will be determined.

At present, work is underway on the detailed elaboration of the stay program and all the activities for the organization of the Belarusian-Russian cultural and educational project "Memory Train".
