March 23, every Belarusian university and college hosted an “Open House Day”. A large scale event was organized in the frames of the all-republican event “I chose a career”. Among special guests were contracting authorities.

About 25 thousand applicants and parents and more than 900 contracting authorities partook in the event. Colleges welcomed a huge number of participants and this fact confirms the necessity to strengthen the link “applicant – university (college) – contracting authority” in the process of organization of a career guidance work with the youth.

The event combined the “Open House Day”, the “Career Guidance Fair” and the “Job fair”.

Applicants and their parents received all the necessary information about universities and colleges, admission rules, learning environments and student’s life as well as employment prospects for a chosen major.

Many regional universities hosted the solemn diploma award ceremonies for winners of university Olympiads. These victors won a pass to the no exam land and a place in a chosen university thanks to their knowledge.

Contracting authorities noted a high involvement of students not only to choosing a career but possibilities of self-realization and career growth. Employers also expressed interest in continuing and developing productive interaction with universities and colleges in organizing the training of specialists and workers, which will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the development of the economy and social sphere of our country.
