In the frames of the 85th anniversary of the reunification of Western Belarus with BSSR, a single lesson dedicated to the National Unity Day is to be held in every institution of general secondary education on September 17.
The lesson’s aim is to help students understand the meaning and significance of the national holiday, the importance of the unity of the Belarusian people to preserve a strong and independent state, it should contribute to the formation of a respectful attitude towards the historical past of Belarus, as well as educate students in citizenship, patriotism, responsibility and readiness to act for the good of their homeland. Teachers will discuss with children the events that became the historical basis of the holiday. Representatives of the BRSM and BRPO can act as moderators of the lesson at the II and III stages of general secondary education. The lesson will also include information on how the 85th anniversary of the reunification of Western Belarus and the BSSR is celebrated in a specific region, area, district or locality.
