Schoolchildren and students to write “Victory Dictation” April 25

Schoolchildren and students will write a dictation dedicated to the Great Patriotic War events. More than 130 various places will host it, such as education, culture establishments, museums and libraries.

In the morning students will take part in flower laying ceremony at the Minsk Hero City Obelisk. Then, a solemn opening ceremony for the international historical project “Victory dictation” will take place at around noon.

Main online connectivity to action is planned at the Belarusian Great Patriotic War Museum. Participants will have to do 25 tasks within a 45-minute time limit. The tasks were set by Museum of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and Belarusian National Library. Final Standings will be determined by the number of correct answers and amount of time spent. This rating will help to find the winners.

The aim of the dictation is to boost historical literacy and patriotic education among youngsters. Such events help preserve historical memory and instill respect towards the veterans of the Great Patriotic War.
