Belarus is improving its system for working with gifted children. The Ministry of Education's flagship project, "School of Olympiad Movement," completed its second in-person session, confirming its status as an effective platform for talent discovery.
Key results of the stage:
* Participants: 21 teachers and 70 students who demonstrated the best results in the online stages.
* Training: Lectures and seminars were conducted by BSU faculty. Teachers are adopting university methods for working with gifted children for implementation in schools.
* Prospects: The Zubrenok National Children's and Youth Center will join the project in 2026. The first specialized session for female winners of mathematics and computer science olympiads has already begun.
Benefits for winners:
Successful performance in the third stage of the national olympiad opens doors to universities:
* Holders of first-place diplomas receive a certificate for 100 points in their subject;
* Winners (I-III places) are eligible for admission to pedagogical and a number of specialized programs without entrance exams.
The established system serves a specific purpose. It provides opportunities for students, stimulates the professional growth of teachers, and ensures the intellectual future of the country.
