International Day of Piece saw the end of the Republican project “Road-train #Belarus. Youth. Creation”. This project is the forth one and this year it was dedicated to the Year of Peace and Creation.

This event gathers more and more people from year to year and this time road-train welcomed participants from Moscow, Astrahan, Smolensk, Pskov, Orenburg, Kaliningrad and Buryatiya.

This year 80 active and energetic young people, who came from student, scientific, art and working groups joined the event and rode more than three hundred km across the whole republic.

The itinerary included 16 Belarusian cities and dozens of memorable places as well as social institutions. This year the emphasis was on charitable initiatives of youth. Our participants visited care homes for elderly people, kids facilities, animal shelters etc.

Deputy Minister of Education Alexander Kadlubai came to the Belarus State Museum of the History of The Great Patriotic War in order to congratulate participants with successful finish of the project. Mr. Kadlubai said patriotism must be creative and active. He commented: “I am sure everything you have done throughout your itinerary helped to strengthen your patriotism. Those, who was speaking of globalism and had doubts whether they love our motherland, they formulated the right thought. I hope this project became an impetus for your future creative deeds at your homes and regions. Tell your friends about the project so their minds fire up with the idea to join”.

Let us remind you that Gomel became the first point on the route of the republican project. In the regional center, young men and women honored the memory of the liberators at a rally on the Alley of Heroes and laid flowers at the monument. Project participants learned about the production of the Gomel Casting and Normal Plant. The youth also visited the Gomel boarding school for disabled children with special needs of psychophysical development.

Youngsters can’t help but note the interesting and valuable experience gained. Francysk Skoryna Gomel State University student Vladislav Mokharev told us that such projects are never-to-miss opportunities to travel and explore our beautiful, modern, strong and sovereign Belarus.

In turn, participant from Buryatia Alexandra Rabdanova, who came to Belarus for the first time, emphasized: “For me this is a very interesting and valuable experience. It’s a very beautiful country and people are so hospitable.”

For reference: The project is being implemented by the Republican Youth Center with the support of the Ministry of Education. It is aimed at instilling in young people respect for the history, culture and traditions of the Belarusian people, preserving the continuity of generations, supporting charitable initiatives of young people, and developing an active civic position.

The key message of the project is that patriotism must pass through every participant and it did.
