On May 14, 2023, more than 53 thousand eleven graders took on the first centralized exam! They had to choose from Russian or Belarusian language exam and pass it with flying colors.
The results are as follows: 413 students scored 100 points on Belarusian and 482 on Russian, respectively. This year the number of 100 points results have increased in comparison with the previous years, thanks to complete correlation of test materials with academic program and exemption of the fifth level of difficulty. Still, it is important to mention that about 10% of graduates failed to prove their 9 and 10 marks received at the end of the year.
These results show that graduates did well during the exam with around 60% of students scoring 6,7,8 marks (10 point scale) on state language exam and the results match with the official ones for the last 2 years. In general, students managed to pass through 70% of tasks.
Unfortunately, there are low results. Thus, 3 graduates scored nothing on Belarusian language with 63 and 85 graduates scored 1 or 2 on Russian and Belarussian respectively. Taking into account that the III stage of general secondary education within the framework of specialized education is generally focused on preparing for admission to higher education institutions, one should take a responsible approach to the decision to continue education after grade 9. Students can obtain compulsory general secondary education and a specialty by continuing their studies at vocational colleges.
In general the analysis of the results show us that the new system proved itself worthy.
Ministry of Education has to do a deep analysis of the CE results to improve the existing test material and the work of the teaching stuff.
