A remote competition dedicated to formation of ecologic knowledge among students through realization and foundation of interior-design, indoor floriculture and floristry is about to take place from December 2023 to June 2024.

Priority tasks are as follows: promotion of indoor floriculture and floristry knowledge among students as well as skills on element projection for Interior design and creative abilities through design activities.

The organizer is the Ministry of Education, the Republican Center for Ecology and Local History.
The age category of students is 10-16 years.

The competition has several stages: the first stage (qualifying) - organized in educational institutions, including educational institutions of regional (Minsk city) and republican subordination; second stage (qualifying) – district, regional for cities with regional divisions, and urban part (except for Minsk); the third stage (qualifying) is regional, Minsk city and the fourth stage (final) is republican.

Thematic nominations have been determined for participants. Thus, in the “My Collection” nomination, a collection of one group of indoor plants or one species, but different varieties, is presented, as well as recommendations and features of caring for them. At the same time, the organizers noted that plant collections can be in such areas as: collection of ficus; collection of ferns; collection of begonias.

The competition entry in the “Easter Composition” category is submitted in the form of a tabletop Easter composition with handmade decorative elements. You can use live plants, natural materials, and Easter decor in your work.

In the “Floral Calligraphy” nomination, a floral collage made in mixed media is demonstrated. In the competition work, you must present a capital letter in a line (cap letter) or initials, fashionably decorated with floral decoration. It is worth noting that the large letter at the beginning of the text decorated with floral patterns is one of the oldest elements of book design. This letter can be font or decorated, monochrome or colorful, ornamental or curly, but no matter how it is executed, its first and main purpose is to attract attention. The main message is that in the competition work it is necessary to combine the art of calligraphy and floristry.

A creative report is submitted to the competition, which includes: 1. a brief description of the collection of indoor plants, indicating the number and species diversity, conditions of maintenance and care recommendations; 2. photographic materials of the completed work and individual close-up elements demonstrating the natural material used; 3. photographs of interior work with the author.

Competitive works in all nominations are performed by participants individually.

The results of the competition are summed up in absentia until July 1, 2024. To sum up the results of the competition, the organizers form a jury.

Evaluation of creative works is carried out according to the following criteria: compliance with the conditions of the nomination, technique of performing the work, color scheme, selection of plants and materials, compositional solution.

The winners of the competition are awarded diplomas of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus I, II, III degrees and diplomas of the Republican Center.

According to the terms of the republican distance competition in interior design and floristry “Green House”, the following number of prize places is established: 1st place – one in each nomination, 2nd place – two in each nomination, 3rd place – two in each nomination.
